International APPLICATION & ADMISSION

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • First, please check if you fulfill the admission criteria. A possibility to fulfill the admission criteria is to submit proof of a foreign degree that corresponds to an Austrian high school diploma/school-leaving certificate, or a university entrance qualification. The equivalence of this degree can be based on an agreement according to international law, a nostrification or, in individual cases, on the decision of the head of the relevant bachelor’s degree programme. If the equivalence of this degree regarding the contents and requirements of an Austrian school leaving-certificate is not given, the head of the study degree programme shall prescribe one or more supplementary examination(s).
  • Then, for internal verification purposes, please upload all application documents as soon as possible after submission of the application (you will find an explanation in the section below).
  • For applicants with certificates from third countries (i.e. all countries except the member states of the EEA/EU and Switzerland), the application deadline is brought forward to 31st March 2024 (Deadlines and Dates – German version). This gives you sufficient time to apply for the required residence permit and/or visa and to obtain any missing documents and certifications.
  • This does not apply to applicants with certificates from third countries who either already have a valid residence permit for Austria or who are entitled to visa-free entry and can submit their application directly to the locally competent residence authority in Austria, whereby the regular application deadlines apply.
  • You can find a detailed list of the required application documents at “Application Documents” in the area below. While verifying equivalence with Austrian certificates, we may need to request further documents from you.

Only when you have submitted all application documents and when internal verification has been completed, you can be admitted to the application process.

Since there are usually more applicants than available study places, please remember that admitting you to the application process does not mean that we can automatically offer you a study place.

Deadline for regular applications (= for citizens of EU/EEA member states and Switzerland):
The application deadline for the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Smart Automation is 15 July 2024.
Deadline for citizens from countries other than the EU/EEA member states or Switzerland:
For applicants with certificates from countries other than the EEA/EU member states and Switzerland, the application deadline for all degree programmes has been brought forward to 31 March 2024. This means that you may still have sufficient time to apply for the required residence permit and/or visa or to obtain any missing documents and certifications.
This does not apply to applicants with certificates from those countries who either already have a valid residence permit for Austria or who are authorised to enter Austria without a visa and can submit their application directly to the locally competent residence authority in Austria, whereby the regular application deadlines apply.
