Accompanying Projects

The course Accompanying Projects starts in the 3rd semester of the Bachelor Degree Programme in Automation Technology and covers three semesters. A project task chosen by the student (or specified by the supervisor) is solved in teamwork, usually within one semester. The tasks deal with typical problems in automation technology.

  • CAN (Controller Area Network)  bus system
  • Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering – Robotics
  • PLC system technology (programmable logic controller)
  • RFID (radio frequency identification)
  • PC interface technology
  • DEWEsoft (universal data collection)
  • Microcontroller technology

Please find a few examples below.

In addition, current topics from R&D projects are included. Each student must choose three topics from the subject areas offered and work on one of them under supervision in the form of a practical project within the time frame of one semester. The PLC topic must compulsorily be chosen by each student. In order to make this an interesting project, regardless of previous education and experience, different focus areas are set within the topic of SPS.

Projects are carried out in teams, with the team’s work being documented in writing in a protocol. At the end of the semester, the individually prepared presentations of the projects are presented. The students receive feedback on their presentation techniques from an expert.
