KAGes | Optimisation of cost accounting

Identification and evaluation of optimisation potentials in the cost accounting system of Steiermärkische Krankenanstaltengesellschaft m.b.H. (KAGes)

For hospitals financed by state funds, such as the Styrian KAGes, a cost accounting regulation has been issued at statutory level. The regulations allow for a certain flexibility. In cooperation with the Finance and Controlling organisational unit of KAGes, Bachelor students of the class of 2020 were able to identify potentials with regard to company-wide standardisation in cost centre accounting and internal costs allocation.

WAIBROsports | Start-up rating

Preparation of a planning calculation and rating of the new start-up company WAIBROsports.

WAIBROsports is a Graz-based business start-up that is working on the development of a belt for visually impaired runners. Master students of the class of 2021 created an integrated planning statement consisting of a profit and loss statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement in Excel. In addition, a company valuation derived from the planning calculation was presented to the cooperating partner .

JUFA Risk Management System

 

Design of a risk management system for the JUFA Hotels Group

Following an analysis of the structural and procedural organisation, Master’s students of the class of 2021 designed a risk management process for the operational area of the JUFA Hotels Group. Together with the cooperation partner, methods for the identification, evaluation and control as well as reporting of risks were designed. An Excel tool for the implementation and documentation of the process was handed over to the management of the JUFA Hotels Group.

SK Sturm Graz | Regional economic analysis 2023

Quantification of the regional economic effects triggered by SK Sturm Graz in the 2022/23 financial year

The aim of this study is to quantify the regional economic effects of SK Sturm Graz. Any influences the club has on its environment as well as the interconnections between the different economic sectors that are affected by the activities of SK Sturm Graz and the football games are taken into account.

The study, carried out in cooperation with the FH CAMPUS 02 and the Institute for Economic and Location Development of the Styrian Chamber of Commerce, shows that the association generated gross value added of 42 million euros as well as taxes and duties of 20.2 million euros in the 2022/23 financial year. In addition, a total of 462.5 full-time equivalent jobs were utilized.

Steiermärkische Sparkasse | Designing a store dashboard

Conception of a store dashboard for Steiermärkische Bank und Sparkassen AG, taking into account the information needs of the report recipients

The branches of Steiermärkische Sparkasse, which provide their services primarily to private customers, are controlled through sales planning and extensive reporting tools. In this practical project, a clear MS Excel dashboard was developed for ongoing reporting on new private customer business, which corresponds to HICHERT’s SUCCESS visualization rules. The key figures presented were selected after a survey of branch managers and refined through a utility analysis before they were integrated into the dashboard. This dashboard monitors new business in nine main categories and illustrates the desired goals, actual values ​​and deviations from target status.

AKG Plastics | Sales calculation

Conducting an actual-state analysis and deriving recommendations for action to harmonize and optimize sales calculations in plastics-producing plants in the Robust Industry Group

AKG Plastics GmbH is a plastics producing company in the Robust Industry group, whose service areas extend from automotive to industrial packaging and hospital waste containers to modular floating elements.

The project aimed to harmonize and optimize sales calculations in four plants in the Robust Industry group. For this purpose, the different procedures and methods in the sales calculation of the four plants were recorded and the differences were shown. Based on the analysis results, recommendations for action to improve sales calculations were derived so that they can be standardized and improved.

AKG Plastics | Catalog of key figures

Development of a recipient-oriented catalog of key figures for the plastics producing plants of the Robust Industry Group

AKG Plastics GmbH is a plastics producing company in the Robust Industry group, whose service areas extend from automotive to industrial packaging and hospital waste containers to modular floating elements.

As part of the project, a recipient-oriented catalog of key figures was developed that is tailored to the information needs of management. This serves as a uniform basis for the monthly reporting of the individual plants to the Shared Service Center “Finance”.

BÖB | CSR reporting

Determination of the BÖB members’ position on sustainable actions and sustainability reporting

In cooperation with the Federal Association of Austrian Accountants (BÖB), an online survey was carried out to determine the current status of sustainability reporting and sustainable action among BÖB member companies. Sustainability reporting is becoming increasingly important for SMEs, as they have to report information to reporting companies as part of the value chain. In addition, sustainability information is increasingly required when granting loans. The results of the study show that the majority of participants already act sustainably but do not report on it.
