Postgraduate Master Degree Programme in

The Postgraduate Master Degree Programme in Systems Engineering Leadership is an extra-occupational programme based on the concept of blended learning. The degree programme aims to specialise students in systems engineering – the interdisciplinary development of complex systems – and in addition, prepare them for management positions in this area.

Ideal for working professionals who want to develop further. With two weeks per semester, the schedule is oriented towards the needs of students who are in the middle of their professional career.

Classes

Extra-occupational: Two weeks per semester that alternately take place in Graz and Hamburg. In these two weeks, there are classes from 08:00 – 17:30 Monday to Friday.

Programme starts: every spring

Our graduates can be employed for operative senior manager positions in the area of systems engineering. They also go on to work as system analysts, system architects, system designers and system developers (systems engineer), project leaders, quality assurance, sales and team leaders.

Transnational Master degree programme

The Degree Programme in IT & Business Informatics has designed this Postgraduate Master degree programme together with oose Innovative Informatik eG in Hamburg. This is why classes take alternately place in Graz and Hamburg, meaning that both institutions teach and deliver the content – a promising combination between theoretical knowledge and applied practice.

Note: The Postgraduate Master Degree Programme in Software Engineering Leadership is held in German. Therefore the application process is also done in German.

Admission criteria

A general admission criterion is proof of B2 level German language skills (according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages).

The prerequisite for studying a Master’s degree is generally a completed, subject-relevant Bachelor’s degree, Diploma degree or another equivalent degree from a recognised, postsecondary university in Austria or abroad.

The Degree Programme in Information Technologies & Business Informatics has designed and planned this Postgraduate Master degree programme together with oose Innovative Informatik eG in Hamburg. At the beginning of the year 2017, this unique vocational programme will start for the first time.

The success of the Master’s degree in Software Engineering Leadership has proven us right: the Master’s for leadership skills in software engineering also delivered by CAMPUS 02 and oose Innovative Informatik starts for the fourth time in 2017.

Certificates

Each lecture also serves as preparation for recognised industry certificates. These preparations alone have a market value of approx. € 7,000. The certifications are the following:

  • Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE Foundational Level)
  • OMG Certified Systems Modelling Professional (OCSMP Fundamental Level)
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

Funding opportunities

Small and middle-sized businesses (SMBs) in Styria can receive financial support through the Steirische Wirtschaftsförderung’s (SFG; Styrian company that provides financial support to Styrian SMBs) support programme “Erfolgs!Kurs”, if one of their employees is going to be a student of the postgraduate Master Degree Programme in “Systems Engineering Leadership”. SMBs may submit an application (two applications per calendar year) and can secure funding of up to 50% of the eligible project costs (max. € 2,500.00),
