Teaching Award 2018

Period: Academic Year 2016/17 & Academic Year 2017/18

The CAMPUS 02 Teaching Award 2018 revolved around the motto “Enjoying Learning”. Eight course concepts from four different fields of study were nominated for the prize by students and specialist field coordinators. The nominations were evaluated by an internal jury supported by an external expert, Dr. Gudrun Salmhofer, Head of the Teaching and Degree Programme Services of the University of Graz.

The winner of the Teaching Award 2018 was MMag. Christian Franz Pfummerl with his concept for the course Finance, which is taught in the Master’s Degree Programme in Financial Accounting and Management Accounting at CAMPUS 02. The jury was particularly impressed by Mr Pfummerl’s integration of practice-oriented elements and methodical-didactical approach.

The prize was awarded on 13 November 2018 as part of the event “Light-hearted Lectures: Enjoying Learning”. Dr. Renate Mayer, trainer, moderator and consultant for using humour as a didactical tool and labour protection, gave an amusing talk about how to integrate humour into teaching so that both lecturers and students can enjoy and have fun teaching and learning.
