Protecting your data is of utmost importance to us. Our privacy statements for different groups of data subjects offer a brief overview of the personal data we collect and what it is used for.
We, CAMPUS 02 University of Applied Sciences (abbr. CAMPUS 02), Körblergasse 126, 8010 Graz, use the “Zoom” tool to facilitate communication via telephone conferences, online meetings and video conferences.
When using the “Zoom” tool, personal data is processed:
- User details: at least one specified name, if necessary also first name, surname, e-mail, password, profile picture (optional), telephone (optional), department (optional).
- Metadata of meeting: IP addresses of participants, device and hardware information, topic, description (optional).
- Text, audio and video data: Text entries when using the chat, question or survey function, microphone and camera data of your device during the meeting in the course of audio and video playback.
- When dialling in by telephone: Incoming and outgoing telephone number, country name, start and end time, IP address, registered service address, host name, host e-mail, MAC address.
The processing of this data is based either on the fulfilment of a pre-contractual or contractual legal relationship in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 letter b EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and is carried out for the purpose of fulfilling the study contract and running the degree programmes or fulfilling the contract of employment, or on the basis of CAMPUS 02’s justified interest in the efficient conduct of online conferences in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 letter f GDPR, as personal contact is currently not possible due to the Corona pandemic.
Any data stored by us will be deleted in accordance with internal regulations (see respective privacy statements).
“Zoom” stores personal data as long as it is necessary for the purpose of providing its services and deletes them at the latest at the end of the existing contract, unless a longer retention period is required by law. You can delete your own content yourself.

Zoom Video Communications, Inc. is based in the USA. Personal data is therefore also processed in a third country. CAMPUS 02 has concluded a contract processing agreement with “Zoom” which is in accordance with Art 28 GDPR. Data transfers to providers in the US are permitted under Art 49 (1) lit d GDPR for reasons of substantial public interest. In order to safeguard the public interest of scientifically based education, it is therefore necessary for CAMPUS 02 to use Microsoft’s Cloud Service for its study and teaching activities.

Please note that we will update this privacy statement from time to time (e.g. due to law amendments, usage of new technology, new study opportunities). We recommend that you regularly check it for updates.
